"Youth Speaks Poet" by Carmen Almodovar and Brietta O'Neal explores the importance of poetry in the life of a young San Francisco artist, Sara Daley. An active participant in the San Francisco based organization YouthSpeaks, Sara writes poetry to express her views about the war in Iraq, her family and friends. The video shows how the arts can be a source of strength, clarity, and community in young peoples lives.

Good work
This is an interesting short film of a talented young poet. My fellow reviewers did not seem to take into consideration that the film was made in 2004, during or shortly after a crisis in Palestine. She obviously knows more at what was going on than they people who put her down. (And of course, she never claimed that President Bush was responsible for the situation. People just see what makes them confortable, I guess.)

The right used to scare me. Now the right and the left scare me. There's nothing but knee-jerk reactions and little objective thinking. Bush is responsible for the Israeli conflict? What?! Pleease.
